Bailey & Teddy’s Winter Wedding at Mount Ida Farm | Charlottesville Wedding Photography

Bailey & Teddy

The wedding of Bailey & Teddy at The Event Barn at Mount Ida Farm | Charlottesville, VA

Bailey & Teddy’s Love Story:
Having had mutual friends, Bailey and Teddy knew of each other for some time before actually meeting. On the night considered to be “the night they met,” both were at a mutual friend’s house, where Bailey was chatting away with everyone… except Teddy. He was the only one who would not talk to her. Very annoyed by this, Bailey made it her goal to make him have a conversation with her. In doing this, her actions (which she intended on being a joke) charmed Teddy over!

Following that night, Teddy began pursuing Bailey pretty heavily. Being super shy, Bailey did not realize this, as Teddy’s version of “excessive pursuit” was that of an average person’s “interest.” On the night it all became clear to her, to her complete surprise, he kissed her! Being a complete whirlwind from the beginning, their first date was dinner at Teddy’s mom’s house (where Bailey met his mom). Their second official date was to his cousin’s wedding, where she got to meet his dad’s side of the family. Keeping this trend going, their third date was around Bailey’s birthday where Teddy came to her house for dinner to meet her entire family. From there, we can say, the rest is history!

The Couple’s Favorite Moments:
“Getting to enjoy our big day with all our closest friends and family… dancing and laughing the night away… was our favorite part of the wedding. But two of the most memorable moments for me, were getting to do a first look with both my dad and with Teddy. Both of those moments just felt so intimate and special. How I felt during those minutes together, I will never forget.”

Their Wedding Inspiration:
“We both love a rustic, natural, and simple style. Neither of us wanted too much glitz and glam. Really, the most important things to us were the location (which we ADORED Mount Ida’s Barn from the moment we walked through the door) and the FOOD. We are huge foodies and could not imagine having mediocre food at our wedding. We had a tasting at The Local and fell in love with their food!”

Now that you are married, what words of advice do you have for couples getting married?
“Try not to stress over the little details! I know everyone told me this and I did it anyway… UNTIL the wedding day. I made a conscious decision to let everything go and fully enjoy and participate in our day. It was the best decision I ever made. I even forgot to get a garter and didn’t realize until Courtney asked me if I had it on! Which typically would have sent me over the edge, but I laughed it off. We skipped that moment and no one even noticed! Also, take time to actually enjoy your future spouse! It’s so easy to get distracted by the “to-do” list, but make the time to take your mind off of everything and enjoy each other.”

Testimonial from the couple:
“Ron, you have been so so amazing through this whole thing! We have absolutely loved having you there for the engagement photos, bridal portraits, rehearsal dinner, AND the wedding day! You put us at ease every time we were in front of the camera (and we are normally very awkward people) and we are SO happy we put our faith and trust in you to capture every moment along the way. Every single time you have blown us away and defied all expectations. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being such a huge part of this for us!”
