On August 20th, my good friends Allison Hobart and Ryan Nader got married in Charlottesville, Virginia at Ash Lawn-Highland. Besides Ash Lawn-Highland being very historic as it was the home of former President James Monroe, it offers a gorgeous location for a wedding.
The day started out with me chillin with the guys at the Holiday Inn as the groom and groomsmen prepped for the wedding. After they were ready they boarded the shuttle to Ash Lawn-Highland where they hid away behind the historic slave quarters until it was time for the ceremony to begin.
All the wedding details were beautiful from the vibrant bouquets prepared by A New Leaf Florist to the wedding cake dressed with fresh berries made by Hot Cakes. There were even colorful flip-flops available so the ladies would be comfortable during the reception.
Moments before the ceremony began I caught up with the groom and the groomsmen one more time before meeting the beautiful bride and her bridesmaids while they were being dropped by the shuttle from their hotel. Allison and the bridesmaids all gathered for some quick photos before making their way to the Statue Yard where they waited for the procession to begin.
The day was a perfect for an outdoor wedding complete with blue skies and warm sun. The ring bearers looked adorable and stayed cool wearing khaki shorts and white button down shirts with a bow tie.
The groom watched his radiant bride make her way down the isle escorted by her father. The ceremony was beautiful and full of love and heartfelt emotion.
They soon exchanged vows and were pronounced husband and wife by their officiant Claire Goodman. The ceremony was capped off by a kiss and loving embrace then the newly married couple made their way back down the isle to many joyful cheers and congratulations from their guests.
Just after they exited I was able to catch this candid embrace between the hedges as the sun glistened behind them! How beautiful!!
During cocktail hour the bride and groom slipped away from the wedding party an had their own photo session. We went to the entrance drive of Ash Lawn -Highland that is lined by Ash trees. During this time they got to relax a little and take in everything that just happened. They had so much fun but soon we had to head back for their anxious guests who were waiting for their big appearance.
Ryan and Allison are truly a fun loving couple, but you don’t have to take my word for it. just take for example…the cake incident!
After the reception Allison and Ryan exited in style to bubbles and a Mercedes ride back to their hotel. The happy couple departed early the next morning to catch their flight for their honeymoon in Mexico! Once again, Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Ryan Nader!!
